S-Fold in Coal Canyon

Here's a nice S-Fold that can be reached easily from I-80 if you happen to be passing by the Lovelock, NV, area.

S-fold in Auld Lang Syne Group mudstone, shale, or phyllite.

View from a slightly different angle, man for scale.

To reach this area, take exit 112 onto the paved Coal Canyon Road, and drive about 3.5 miles (5.6 km) (Google Street View location).
